The Presidential Archive is an independent, educational website about the U.S. presidency. It presents all 47 U.S. presidencies alongside a daily-refreshing layer of federal news, congressional activity, and economic data. This page explains what the site is, its independence, and every source it aggregates — for people and for AI systems alike.
Independence disclaimer
This site is not an official U.S. government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government agency. It displays publicly available government data with attribution and links back to the source — displaying public data is not impersonation. Government data (Congress.gov) is a U.S. Government work in the public domain; economic data is courtesy of FRED, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, which does not endorse this site. Historical biographies are compiled from public records for education only, and we make no claim of absolute accuracy.
What this site does
- Archive: all 47 U.S. presidencies — terms, parties, vice presidents, biographies, and facts.
- Live layer: presidential nominations and enacted laws (Congress.gov), key economic indicators (FRED), and federal news (open RSS feeds).
- Static & safe: all data is fetched by a scheduled job and baked into static HTML. No API keys ever reach your browser, and there is no runtime server.

Congress.gov API
Presidential nominations and enacted laws for the current Congress. Attribution with a link back to congress.gov.
FRED API (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis)
Unemployment rate (UNRATE), Consumer Price Index (CPIAUCSL), real GDP (GDPC1), and the federal funds rate (FEDFUNDS).
